The Blue Houseby boyte1Comment: very pretty coloring--you couldnt have asked for a better sky! the only thing i might have done differently was either cropped closer in to the center cloumns or wider to allow a little more room for the curves to be accented by the lines on either side. nice work! |

i really like the monotone coloring and the rain coming down---adds to the spookiness! nice work! |

New York Windowsby dimitriiComment: i really like this--the graininess of the sky and the stark angles of the building work nicely together---and the birds frame the picture perfectly. great work! |

very nice composition in this photo! the curve of the stream works well with the line of trees and the horizon. i really like the contrasts of the browns and greens as well. i also think the bland sky helps enhance the melancholy mood of the photograph. technically well done, i like the fact that you used full aperature capability--one of my favorite aspects of the pic is the tiny tree way up on the horizon! all in all nice work! |

Stony Brook Harborby OlyuziComment: CC
wow, what a gorgeous place! are you on a boat or on the dock? i love how the beautiful blue water meets the shore and blends into the winter trees. i bet this place is really beautiful in the spring and summer!
the composition is wonderful--having the house backed up to the left corner really enhances the peaceful emptyness of the location. i really like the little rowboat sitting on the shore, as well. the technical side isnt bad either--the contrast seems just a little bland. i like the narrow DOF fine, seems to work here--although i am curious why you didnt choose a smaller aperature for such a long distance? it is possible that it might have added more depth to the shot and added a little more contrast as well!
all in all very pretty shot, nice work! |
