excellently done panning. Ok I am going off topic but imo you should enter this for a Kodak photo of the day and Steve's digicam as well. I think you might have a winning shot here. Ok back to challenge... i like it and this its effective and well done. Perhaps more of a smile from the kid would have really made this, but still very good.

its starting to point towards gloom but imo is not yet there. This is a wonderful shot and has lots of potential. I would say that if you wanted this to be gloom then you will need a lot more dodge/burn and multiply layers.
