 Taken indoors.
I cropped, b/w, exposure /lighting, dodge and burn, sharpen, reduce noise and then repeated some of the steps again.

Love this portrait. It is so strong because of his hands and his eyes. Also the haircut gives it an element of mystery. This is one of the best in the challenge.

I would be in despair too if my hair was cut like that! Excellent capture of emotion.
Looks alittle over sharpened but that may be the lighting.

Dark skin and black and white photos are such a beautiful combination. I would like to see the hands perhaps covering the face more for a better look of despair. To me this looks more contemplative.

I really like the emotion in this shot, but I'm not sure about the checkered looking hair. It also looka just a tad over-sharpened IMHO

Love the detail and sharpness of this photo. Nice rich tones and clean, first rate processing. To me, this picture is a 1000 words of despair. Very well done!

Nice image. I think the B&W does it justice. Great detail. Without the title, I would have been close about the mood you suggest. As I view this image, I wonder if the haircut, has anything to do with this person's 'despair'. Nice Image <6>
