Via Mazziniby JimiRoseComment: I like this too - but I think I like the color version better. The tones are too rich and pretty to take them out in my opinion.

Via Mazziniby JimiRoseComment: Ohhhh how I want to visit your town! It looks so quaint. So interesting. So much character. It makes me want to order up a latte and sit outside and soak up the ambiance. Thanks for sharing :)

Roofby MelethiaComment: I agree with citymars. I go out to our Botanical Garden to try to get photos looking up into those great big greenhouses, and I never get the light "under control". It always look way overblown, and the structure's silhouette doesn't look clean and defined like this -- just black and under lit :( This is a fabulous abstract.

Mast Highby BrianRComment: Wow, Brian! This is beautiful. I am really disappointed that it didn't score better. I read thru some of the comments and totally disagree with most of the criticisms. Because pattern is all about busy -- and this photo is MUCH better centered than if you had put the mast off to one side (in my opinion). I think people get way wayyyyyyyy to hung up on thinking you can't ever have a good photo without that often boring rule of thirds in play.
Sorry. This deserves to have finished much better than it did!

Death on the Firetrailby GregoryBComment: Awwww. ..poor little honey bee. My photo for today can be a tribute to the poor fellow who lost his life to the robber fly.
Man. . .you are so good at macros too! You can see every little creepy fuzzy hair. Amazing! |

Grey Headed FlyingFoxby GregoryBComment: What a FABULOUS photo! Thank you so much for sharing the story too. It makes it even more interesting. That is so amazing. I sure hope there weren't any kinks in the electrical current. That cute little fellow would have a RUDE awakening, wouldn't he.

Stand by meby WindtaleComment: How SWEET! Congratulations on 8th place! Oh. . .and I think wearing the pants that way is pretty much universal. I sure see lots of teenage undies poking out over jeans in America too. :)
