Kojo's Story of Hopeby TranquilComment: great capture! most people think of poverty as being poor and miserable, when it is really an economic term. i like this image because it conveys the basic strength of the human spirit. just wish you had focused on the nose instead of the eye...all the same, one of my top picks for the challenge. good luck! |

Dozen meals for a buckby ArnarpComment: i get the idea, but don't like the lighting, or the background. try to keep it uniform and tight, so as to remove distracting elements from the image (like the table the pillow is sitting on, as well as the wrinkles in the cloth). |

High Interest Shark!by BarryMaskellComment: nice idea, but killed by the lighting. also, it might have been more effective by tearing the paper, rather than cutting it. |

Third Worldby biggood53Comment: if you worked on the lighting, focus, and basic composition, you could probably pull out a stronger image. |

Rust to rustby jcolosiComment: interesting composition, though the lighting seems a little harsh. probably would do better in the challenge if it related to the human element of poverty... |

Deprived of Nutrientsby HeavyComment: interesting composition, but the lighting is a little strong (you might try shooting this at a different time of day). beyond that, though, i'm sure you're getting nailed for not meeting the challenge by all those who think of poverty as it relates to humans...you know, 'the state of having little or no money and few or no material possessions' |
