interesting shot, could be made a bit more dynamic if sign was more to the right (but then again, that would mean you'd probably have to be out in the road, which could be dangerous, especially if another fedex truck was coming up behind you. then again, those are the risk that go with challenge shooting).

if i strip away the title and did not know what the challenge was, authority would never cross my mind. i would be left with a nice bw image, nicely lit and sharply focused.

interesting image. this is one of the few times that i can accept a border without having to think about it. really like the the silhoutting, lines, and shapes, and the way the red light stands out. interesting take on the challenge. good luck.

now that's a good doggie! and i bet 10 minutes later she was rolling around, getting stinky again (at least that's what mine do!). great colors. might be a little stronger if cropped in a bit tighter. wonderful expression, not easy to capture. as for the challenge, it's a stretch, and hopefully you won't be hammered too much along those lines.

while i like all the colors in this image, i'm having a hard time finding a subject that really stands out as authority. the composition doesn't really zero in on any one specific thing. maybe if you had swung your camera around and focused in on the guard and the cab driver?

beautiful portrait of a beautiful woman. great use of negative space. would suggest that you might want to completely take out the details in the negative space before delivering a final print. this is an exquisite piece of work. don't know if you shot it with the challenge in mind, but the angle really adds to the impact. good luck.

while i get what you're after (result of authority being applied, as opposed to actually showing authority), i don't think that was the intent of the challenge. that aside, the image is fine. bw gives the image a lot of strength, lighting and focus are on, general composition works well.

not sure how you set up the shot, but i would say that if you went to much trouble to capture the image, i wish you would have gone a little further and included an authority figure in the image. from a scoring standpoint, outside-the-box images usually don't do that well without a real, real strong tie to the challenge. with this image, i'll be surprised if the voters in general will be that generous. good luck!
