now, please bear with me. voting this challenge is extremely difficult, not just because of the size, but because we are dealing with images that people consider their best. it makes even constructive criticism hard...
i appreciate what you're attempting to deliver here, but it somehow feels off. parts of the image seem a bit over-processed (which makes it seem too 'unreal'), while other parts seem to be very rough (as if you are asking your camera to do more than it is capable of). the lighting is a tad strong. i hope you are getting some good comments and suggestions, and not being overlooked in this monster-sized challenge. maybe just consider this a starting point for the rest of the year. good luck with this and the challenges yet to come! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

you have a nice picture of a flower. but, as presented here, it doesn't do anything to grab me and wow me. on the other hand, if you had put the camera down on the ground and shot this looking it, you would have produced a unique, attention grabbing image. i hope you are getting some good comments, and not getting lost in the shuffle of this super-sized challenge. if you aren't getting what you expected or wanted, please don't take it personally. maybe just consider it a starting point for the rest of the year. good luck with this and the challenges yet to come! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

for me, this image is more of a documentary-styled snapshot than a challenge entry. while this is perfectly fine for a tourist brochure, i don't think it is going to really capture the emotions of the challenge voters. it's not really the subject, as much as it is the perspective and/or the context. if you don't wind up where you wanted to be in terms of scores and comments, please don't take it personally; just consider it a starting point for the rest of the year. good luck with this and the challenges yet to come! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

this looks like a nice idea for a still life, but i do find it a bit busy and the lighting to be a bit strong. this idea might work better if the composition was a bit less haphazard and more under control. still lifes tend to do best when their is a decidedly strong subject that is supported and enhanced by the objects and elements around it. remember, simple is better. also, this is just my opinion; you have a nice image, regardless of how it finishes in the challenge. i just hope that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle of this monster-sized challenge. good luck with this and the challenges yet to come! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

i think you have found a beautiful vista to shoot; but i also think you shot it at the wrong time of day. the lighting is just too harsh, and it takes away the details that can bring an image to life. it also doesn't help when the sky is not really offering anything interesting. even though sunsets and sunrises can be considered cliches, they are shot because of the drama in lighting that they offer--and that drama is what you need in a challenge entry to grab a viewer's attention. if you don't wind up where you wanted to be in terms of comments and votes, please don't take it personally; maybe just consider it a starting point for the rest of the year. good luck in this, and the challenges yet to come! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

i am positive that you saw a stunningly brilliant sunset. i also think that it was beyond your camera's capabilities to capture what you experienced. that does not mean you should quit trying or that you should throw your camera away--it means that as far as challenges go, you might need to work a bit harder to compensate for the limitations of your camera. in the long run, you will become a much stronger photographer, but only if you keep at it. don't take where you wind up with in this challenge personally; maybe just consider it a starting point for the rest of the year. good luck with this, and in the challenges yet to come! |
