thanks for the grin, and the inspiration! good luck. 8 from me. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

excellent job with the focus--the eyes really come through. the range of tones is nice to, especially how the background works to accentuate your face. the lighting from the top, though, seems to be just a tad too strong, as though it's washing out some of the texture and character in your face; not a lot, just a bit. but then again, it will be a long time before i come close to this work. good job, and good luck! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

my initial reaction is "what happened to this wonderful image?" i guess you're wearing a black hat? i don't know why. the lighting is great, the tones are warm, you've really captured your eyes...could you have done this without the hat? all of that undefined black space at the top just sits so heavy on what could be a killer image. right now, when i crop the top 30-35% and the left 20% off, i see an amazing portrait. but then again, what the hell do i know? i shoot bugs and sunsets and blurry taxis. good luck! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

what an incredibly strong image. ordinarily, i think i would complain about the lighting, but here, the contrast are perfect and the focus is so dead-on that it completely works! great pose, expression, composition--wonderfully executed. 8 from me. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

clever image, to say the least. glad to see it was validated. while it is an interesting presentation, it seems as though it could be cropped a bit tighter. good luck, and thanks for giving me some new ideas! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

most interesting effect. great job outstanding job lining up the portrait and the profile. this would be a novel idea to try outside the constraints of challenge editing rules, especially to try with different colors. in many ways, you have captured the essence of the individual. i applaud your inventiveness! 8 from me.

i can completely relate to the quietly enjoying the piano in the dark, and can also appreciate your attempt to capture this aspect of yourself. i think, though, that it's just a bit too dark, and that the lit parts act more as distractions than supporting elements. then again, maybe this is exactly what you wanted. good luck! |

what a killer expression! the lighting and focus are tops. not too keen on the colors, but, then again, this is an image that's all about you. i hate it when i'm wrong, but i have to guess lens-baby, as i know of nothing else to produce such a weird area of focus. well, whatever. this is a cool shot, and i hope it does well for you. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
