Repetitionby samtrundleComment: killer find, anders! i don't know how possible this is, but you might consider reshooting this to take a bit more advantage of the natural gradient you've found (you might be able to do something about it in photoshop, as well). as is, the bottom 40% would be a strong image by itself, and the top 60% would also be strong by itself, but together, that dark corner tends to pull my eye away from the image.
i really like that one jagged line that comes down just right of center that seems to stand out among all the smooth curves. great observation! |

Win or Lose - They're ALL Winners!by glad2badadComment: aw, barry, i think you got robbed by clicking just a half-second too soon--take a look at the face of the boy getting ready to come through!
these shots are tough calls for challenges. i think this would probably have scored higher (ie, had more appeal), if you had caught someone looking up. there might always be a half-point or so to be gained from technical polish, but as you saw with your blue-ribboner, most points come from getting the viewers to instantly connect with your subject. |

Church of Mary Magdalene, Minsk, Belarus, Built in 1847by skiefComment: nicely observed. i also like the angle and composition. not sure what, if anything could be done to improve the shot, let alone the challenge placement (unless there was some super wild skies--but then again, that would probably detract from the beauty of the building). |
