I found it interesting how some viewers thought the image composition could be changed - "...get the girls running the other way...", "...replace the trees with blue sky...". If, if, if... ;^) No control over this one, just grab the camera and hope it works!

I'm glad two people found the one girl peeking up that's next to come out of the tunnel. She was a pleasant surprise - I love the look on her face.

aw, barry, i think you got robbed by clicking just a half-second too soon--take a look at the face of the boy getting ready to come through!

these shots are tough calls for challenges. i think this would probably have scored higher (ie, had more appeal), if you had caught someone looking up. there might always be a half-point or so to be gained from technical polish, but as you saw with your blue-ribboner, most points come from getting the viewers to instantly connect with your subject.

Great capture of a great program. Look at those smiling faces!!! I especially like the smiling face between the two girls in front. Bumping up...

Almost looks like the Soccer Moms didn't want their faces in the photo. Too bad you couldn't get the girls running through the other way and then get everyones face with the help of the sun.

An event happening all over the country and you were the only one to catch it on film, great job.

Ahh....an image that puts off an emotion. Some pics I've been flipping through don't tuoch me emotionally at all. With this image, however, you can "feel" the energy from the youth of your subjects. I think you did a great job. It's not oversaturated, exposure seems a tiny bit hot, but not distracting. My complaint is the cluttered feel of the composition. There almost too much going on. If the distracting trees weren't int he background, this would have been easier to look at. Picture the same image with a blue sky replacing the wispy trees. mmm.

Nice job anyways! You worked with the conditions that were available and caught a great candid shot to share with us.

Goodluck and happy shooting,

Chris A

A few of the highlights and blown out, but a good cheerful photo
