Sunset Promenadeby maxjComment: this is killer! but, this time, the horizon is definitely tilted. if you're using ps, use the measure tool (click the dropper tool, rt-click and select measure) to draw a line; then go to image | rotate | arbitrary and click ok...bang! crop it and you're done! clean it up, and you'll get another fave ;-) |

Reflections of a Day Bygoneby maxjComment: awesome shot, max! it might be an optical illusion, but it appears your horizon is slightly tilted down to the left...left me know if i'm wrong. |

Geometryby JinjitComment: sweet shot, adi! congrats on your best score, year-to-date!
now...go back and reshoot it at iso100 at the highest f-stop your camera will allow for the longest correct exposure your camera will allow. if you don't have a tripod, take/find something to rest the camera on (and if you don't have a tripod, get a small bag and fill it with beans or rice). once you're set up, put the camera in timer mode so you won't get any camera shake from pressing the shutter. lastly, if your camera supports it, shoot it raw. try these things, and you will be absolutely amazed at how those lines come in razor sharp.
as for everything else, the composition, lighting, and framing are wonderful. i wouldn't change a thing. good work! |

Sky Larkingby ImagineerComment: i don't know how much of your work you subject your people to, but this would make a great motivational poster titled, "There are NO Limits!" |

Sky Larkingby ImagineerComment: i hate it when this happens:
"ERROR: 'Sky Larking' is already in your favorites list."
this is one of the most killer shots on the site.
the composition is absolutely stunning, with the flyer soaring from the blue background into the whiteish backbround. the lines from the bottom along the boardwalk up through the compatriots practically lead you out into the sky.
if i was you, i'd submit this to every contest i could, on-line or otherwise. |

Servant's Quartersby novaComment: heyah, ray! love the image, but honestly, my first reaction was, "why'd he put that border on it?" in general, i don't have a problem with borders--to me, they are just another part of the presentation to consider (i look at titles the same way). along those lines, if you are going to do it, ask yourself if the border is going to enhance or detract from the image? if you are just playing with borders, i'd suggest using your portfolio space to try them out, rather than lose a half point to a point from those that find it distracting or detracting.
all the same, great find, nicely observed! keep it up! |
