Taken at 51mm according to the .exif. Used a polarizer to darken the sky. Cropped slightly off the right side. Used curves and unsharp mask to increase the contrast and selective and replace colour to slightly darken the blue colour in the photo. Burned the clouds in the far left of the photo to regain some of the details in them and lastly in the pole that is second from the left the line that holds up the flag was dangling loose so I removed it with a healing brush.

Anyway, this is taken at Tjornin in front of the city hall. I had to wait about 30 minutes for the seagulls to align themselves on top of each flagpole but when that finally happened it turned out to be a pretty boring photograph in my opinion so I waited another 5 minutes till one of the seagulls flew off and this is the result. Anyway, I know this is hardly ribbon material but after spending that much time getting one shot I figured what the hell, the worst thing that will happen is that my average will go down a little bit.

Congratulations on your 5th finish. This is quite a remarhable capture with great interest because of the 4 perching and the 5th in flight. Wew!

A splendid capture! I wonder if you ever got one with all 5 birds on the posts? Sky is perfect and colors and focus are great as well.

One of my favourite subjects at the moment is flight and this is great. Admitedly not the most awe-inspiring of birds but the cripsness of the the shot and the way you have got the colour of the sky is amazing. Kinda reminds me for some reason of something of a pixar animation. Good luck its one of my faves so far :0)

Cool photo. Looks like they are all cloned or cropped in. If so it would be excellent if you could capture it for real, and if not still cool photo. I have a photo of a bird from florida like this that I cloned all over the place.

Fantastic timing! I know how hard it is to get these birds to cooperate! Really, they don't listen or pay attention to how you want them to pose, but you managed to nail this one. :-)

gave you a 10. Can't tell you why, but I know that found shots blow away posed ones any day. And this one is just so...found. And its perfect for this challenge. Can't tell you how to make it better - don't think it can be. Good luck!

This is so fine in many ways. I wish it were rendered in such a way as to attain a little-better separation of elements from sky.

This is nice. It would have been good if all the birds were sitting on the poles, but it's even better with one flying.

Love it! A slightly more diagonal angle would make this less static, but hey, must have been hard enough to make those gulls pose like that in the first place. 8
