Vogueby idnicComment: well, this is certainly an in-your-face shot. it definitely gets your attention. my gripes are with the lighting--it's just a bit too strong from the right.

Blue Grapesby MansonsdesdemonaComment: ??? i'm sorry, but this strikes me as nothing more than a bad image. i can't really get a sense of what you're after. all the same, that's just my opinion; as long as you love it, that's what matters. |

Crushing The Ballby serogersComment: nice 'moment of impact' capture. unfortunately, the harshness of the lighting and the cropping make this more of a 'lucky snapshot' than a strong photograph. you do have the equipment and an eye. i would suggest digging through the archives, looking for the best sports shots, then take advantage of opportunities like this to go out and try to capture the shots that interest you the most. good luck! |

Phantom Flowersby slo007Comment: ??? i don't get it. it's not very interesting or fun to look at, at least for me. but hey, that's just my opinion. as long as you like it, that's what matters. |

Irinaby StephenJamesComment: i see where you're going, and you have potential, but this image doesn't quite get there for me. she looks too bored, and there's no context to explain why... |

In the Spotlightby kevrobertsonComment: this has potential, but the focus is too soft for me. also, i'm not quite sure about the colors. check out bob's stuff to get an idea as to how stage lighting can be captured dynamically. |

Down the Waterslideby eaglebeckComment: on one hand, you obviously have decent equipment and an eye for color. on the other, this feels more like a snapshot than a photograph. i think it has to be the centering of the composition. if shot from a different perspective, you would have something here. |

TITAby M&MComment: sorry, but this is not much more than a nice snapshot. check out the portraiture mentoring thread for tips on how to turn this type of shot into a much more dynamic image. |

Unforgivenby PhilComment: first, the border is just too much. it makes the image more about the border than what's inside it. second, i think i can see what you're after, just wish there was a little more detail. as is, it seems a bit out of balance, with that bright area to the right. |
