The Boxing Matchby SaraRComment: Sara, this is an amazing shot! First off I love the frost, gives a nice sense of morning to add a timeline to the production. I love the way you positioned them in the frame, it balances out the big tree in the background. I salute you for spending the time it took to capture this wonderful ritual of nature. This one is a fav. :) |

Not Without My Fishby basssman7Comment: Originally posted by trevytrev: Great capture, site to see for sure! I thought you hated the bald shots..lol!Congrats man on a nice finish and a great photo! |
Hahaha. Well I this is a wild bird. I am not a big fan of the shots of baldy's that are just headshots of captive birds and then given a title like "freedom bird" and things like that. A real, wild bird shot is something of a different feather so to speak. :)
Not to say that headshots of captive birds cannot be beautiful, but they are not the same as the "real" thing. No offense to those that take and enjoy those shots, it is just that if it is a captive bird, please say so in the title so that it is known that the shot was easier to get, and that the bird is certainly not a "freedom bird" when it cannot even fly free.
A shot taken in a sanctuary where the birds can still come and go as they please, but are slightly tamer, are still wild to me because they have the ability to come and go as they please.
I just wonder when I see headshots if they are not showing the whole bird because of the tether attached to the poor thing. Again, no offense to anyone if that is what you are into. |

Fish for breakfast.by zymaraComment: Great shot! Way better than the captured bird headshots that seem to do so well in scoring here on dpc. congrats on a great wild image. (mine was a wild shot of a baldy as well for this competition) |

Standing out in a crowdby jbrightComment: I normally do not like overly processed images, but this one is an exception. It has a nice painterly effect. |
