AveryTunnelby twade1Comment: I love the grainy effect here. the slightly off center subject and the great expression also help.
Although I am finding all these bleak shots in the challenge rather depressing, I do like the concept behind this one. |

Chasing Acornsby johnkochjrComment: Interesting processing adds to an otherwise "snapshot" type image. I am not fond of the bright highlights on the top right, and think that being able to make eye contact with the subject would help as well. |

California Wastelandby psartComment: Great DOF, nice scenery. Unfortunately it looks like you purposely underexposed this image to add to the duotone effect. I do not feel that this is paricularly effective on this shot. I would love to see this shot with lots of contrast. |

Misplacedby zifengwComment: Misplaced or purposely dumped? Either way it is an interesting use of negative space. It fits the challenge as well, with limited tones, but it lacks impact. |

The Poutby kvickreyComment: It looks like you were going for a moody type image here. Unfortunatly by underexposing it to get that effect, it makes the shot sort of "muddy", and it loses it's appeal to me. The frame is also much too large IMHO. |

Dear Johnby heavyjComment: very nice processing on this rather depressing message. The duotone effect really works well here. |

Off-trackby SherwinJamesComment: Great image. The processing really fits with the downtrodden, depressed feel of this. |

Waterfallby CWelchComment: I like it, but I think it would have done better if the rocks were not blurred, it shows that the camera might have moved during the exposure. Sharpness is next to godliness here at dpc. :) |

Look at the Birdie...by WriteHeartComment: Very nice shot of a Black Capped Chickadee. :) great out of focus background. Nice sharpness. I know it can be difficult to get catchlights in those beady little eyes. |
