 I really didn't know what to do for this challenge but I wanted to do something. Took some B&Ws of the kids and found one that I liked. Added a 'cool' filter, highlights and blurred the background slightly. Resized for submission. I kinda like the results. I hope you do to.

I like this. The face of the child is somewhat impassive in contrast to the decoration on the shirt. The blue works well, too.

Interesting processing adds to an otherwise "snapshot" type image. I am not fond of the bright highlights on the top right, and think that being able to make eye contact with the subject would help as well.
