Blue bird of hapinessby bobdaveantComment: This is a very nice shot because the bird gives you this wonderful palette of colors. You did fine because you did focus on the eyes and these you got real sharp. However, the shot can be better accomplished if the dof or in your case the aperture priority is employed. I belive the 935 is very limited to obtain a large span. But a shot like this is taken with the minimum aperture. In this manner the feathers will also be in focus. Always notate the aperture in which a picture is taken because you will get a feeling for the variation in focus. Then when you get a better camera you will have a working knowledge of what certain apertures do. Otherwise, the image is wonderful and is a worthy addition to your port. It is good enough for my favs. Good luck. Message edited by author 2004-10-04 00:09:07. |

Shadowboxerby scalvertComment: This is a creative effort with great visual powerThe choice of the blur adds the illusion of movement to compliment the punch. Will place it at 6 and will return for final evaluation.
back; fitsy O never questioned the validity since this can be accomplished several ways. But who are these members who are so green in this industry that they suspect ps. Remember, hollywood and trick photography existed way before ps ever entered the picture.
I am bumping this image to 10 because it is a creative effort of which there are not as many as I expected. It has remain a rather safe ground entry contest. |

Soft evening light on Loch Arkletby geewhyComment: This is just too mystical and magical to be absorbed in one glance. It is the kind of image that can hang in a room to give it ambience, peace and serenity. Bumping up. |

Acid Tripby atsxusComment: from the critique club:
It is amazing the shapes that one can find in these type of images.
This is a genre which has been quite overworked, yet you managed to add that new twist. It requires the viewer to really look because many will dismiss it as another droplet study.
You did very good because you did create a psychedelic effect with the colors. Also the composition is pleasing. I mean the eyes keep coming back to the droplet where it finds safety. The image has an effervercent feel and one can almost feel the gyrations of the movement.
There is nothing I can say to improve on it, except to congratulate you and to try other variations on different concepts. You work here is admirable. Such applications hone your senses and often give birth to new creations. Message edited by author 2004-10-03 22:24:09. |

I thought this would be easy...by nicoledbComment: Certainly great mind teasers. I'll stay with the simple complex one. lol Bumping up because this image, which I would have brought closer, gave you the chance to work with basic strong colors. Very well captured. Bumping up. |

Split personality - Two Reactionsby terjeComment: This is first rate. A great concept and cool execution. Lovely sepia tones.
Images like this have a strong appeal because the mind is forever untouchable. Like a deep abyss.
By adding mirrors me mimick the dual personality. This image has the feel of an old movie poster. The model did a spendid and the photographer captured the essence. Very good work. |
