Okay, I don't get the connection with the challenge theme here. Well exposed, focused, and shot with an effective perspective and crop. Overall a good photo that suffers from a lack of a strong connection with the challenge theme.

The Man Upstairs

Clever. Dramatic. Spooky. There is no strong connection with the challenge theme however.

Technical: good use of lighting and contrast. Sharp, and in focus.
Artistic: I think the person's red hooded coat distracts somewhat...if he was in a black hooded coat, now that would be really spooky. Otherwise, there is a nice use of lines, geometric shapes and I think the perspective and crop really works well.

Overall, this is a good photo but suffers from a lack of strong connection with the challenge theme.

This is very cute. I am partial to pooches and this guy just looks miserable (which goes well with this particular challenge).

Technical: Focus, DOF, and exposure is good. Image could have been sharpened a hair.
Artistic: The angle and the crop is good. The red background is too dominant. Takes the focus away from the subject.

Overall: I think this fits the theme well and is overall a good entry. Bumping up.

This picture has strong technical and artistic merits. The focus, tonal range, clarity, sharpness, and detail are excellent. The angle, crop, and subject's expression is very interesting.

Unfortunately, I cannot see a connection with the challenge theme. Sorry.
