Shine a Lightby dark_penguinComment: Hey welcome to DPC! Your first challenge beat my first challenge by a hair :) I think one thing that will help your scores regardless of the content is to use the maximum file and image size. Your image is 600 pixel wide and 35 kb in size. The maximum for challenges is 640 pixels and 150 kb. The larger you make the files size the more it will help make the small details look better. You should use the "Save for the Web" function of photoshop, here is a tutorial on this site to show you the best way to get your images ready.
As for you your shot that is pretty impressive painting with light, it is very clear and crisp. But from what I have noticed with challenges is you have to have every part of the photo working towards a theme and try to eliminate as many unnecessary elements as possible for the voters to score your image well. In your image for example, your background doesn't help your shine the light message, maybe try something outside at night or have some interesting lighting or background. I think this is a great first entry and I think you will do well here. good luck and welcome to the site. I hope you don't find my comment harsh just trying to help :)

No I love the constructive feedback. :) In hindsight I think I should have darkened the white some and I had them standing on egg crates, if I had brought a piece of wood to place under their feet it would have straightened out there feet. But they siad they liked there feet that way and didn't want me to fix them. Thanks for the comment. |
