I have yet to be in the area to view a great lighting storm. This is a really cool photograph to see the lightning striking in a neighborhood.

Sorry to hear your shot was before the challenge dates. Its really an amazing shot. :)
I saw you were wondering about the purple on the edge of your image. This is caused from the sensor heating up from being on for so long, it creates little hot spots. It happens with really long exposures. Hope this helps.
