white lightby YuliyaGComment: It appears to me that the light is more to the front and side than behind the cat. |

Friendsby ruffianComment: This would have been a stronger image with the ducks swimming towards you, rather than away from you. We tend to like to look at the front of animals more than the rear.... |

Pure Whiteby redfusionComment: I see more shadow falling towards the back than towards the front... Plus, the harsh light in the front. Both seem to suggest front lighting rather than backlighting. |

waitingby jujube6980Comment: I like the idea here and, for the most part, the lighting and everything is well executed. I think I would have moved the bride over to the left a bit, however, so that the window frame doesn't run behind her. Then again, maybe the outside view would have been even busier... Anyway, good luck in the challenge! |

Come Get Some!by hanlombaComment: I love the position of the feet, and especially the forward leg. The expression on his face is priceless. The only thing I would complain about is having his hands cut in half... I would have preferred to see all the way through to the tips of the fingers. Good luck in the challenge! |

Veronicaby cbellerComment: Beautiful model. Well lit in the front, plus the highlights in her hair from the back. And I like that you positioned her arm/hair/head to avoid a "blowout" from what appears to be water in the background. Good luck in the challenge! |

Golden Predatorby microComment: Animals (as well as insects, people, etc) are nearly always more interesting if you can see their eyes. Of course, if you can see this fella's eyes, chances are he can see yours too and maybe that's not so good! Anyway, I think the photo suffers just a bit from the profiled view, plus the obstruction (tree branches and limbs) in front. Sometimes ya just gotta be patient and take lots of shots hoping for the best one. The backlighting, however, is good. So the other things would only serve to improve the image. I'd love to go where I could take this kind of picture! Good luck in the challenge!
