Polar Windsby srbrubakerComment: I find this a nice effect, but I feel that the image is lacking any strong subject or anchor point to keep me in the photo. |

The days keep raking onby eyeronikComment: This is a stunning photo. The vivid colors scream for attention. I love that brooding sky. The placement of your model and the expression are truly captivating. The reflections in the water are a very nice touch and I really like the sense of motion here. Truly emotive, a wonderful touching story. This image stirs to life the passion in my soul.
thank-you, thank-you... |

Lost by heidaComment: Very nicely done. This is a haunting image. Stands out well. Perfect pose on the model, the way she is looking down, and the white dress is perfect for the shot. I'm left wanting to know the story behind this ghostly photo. Great job. |

Sunflowerby airdanceComment: Nice shot. Good subject, very nice vibrant colors. Could be a tad bit sharper. Most photo editing should have some form of sharpening. In photoshop, the usm(unsharpmask) works very well, an awful lot of people use that tool, it gives you a lot of control over the sharpening. As tranquino said, an offset framing could work nicely, applying the rule of thirds, however, in this case I think the centered comp also works. I think it could perhaps be strengthened by a little cropping to ensure it is very centered, right now, the top and bottom are good, but the left side looks a little larger than the right. If it was all even, it might make the centered composition stand out stronger.
Looked through your pics, you seem to have a real good eye for composition and choosing good subjects. Looking forward to seeing future stuff. :-) |

Aliby airdanceComment: This is a great composition. Lovely cat. I like her right side being in shadow, but would be nice with a little more detail in there. As well as what sdw65 said about lighting, another thing you can try if you're forced in brighter than what you want conditions is to underexpose a little. If your cam does bracketing, that's a good way to help judge the conditions. You can often bring out detail in editing from darker areas, but when it's blown out, that's pretty much it. |

Lonelyby SJCarterComment: Very nice photo. Lovely composition. The lines lead you into and through the image very nicely. Even as a thumbnail, this photo stands out strongly. Your treatment of it is quite pleasing, has a great feel to it. I even like the 'frosty' border, gives it kind of an antique feeling. Great job. |

Fencesby phinbobComment: Nice rustic setting. Makes for a good b/w. I agree with the previous comments. The broken portion of the fence could draw the eye stronger if it 'popped' more. Some things you could try playing around with, do a duo or tritone. Often times, especially with a b/w, I do a curves adj. layer with a sharp 'S' curve, with the opacity dropped way down. Also, you could try layer options, like a color dodge, color burn, multiply, overlay, screen, and again, drop the opacity way down til it looks right. |

Study in Metal - Reflectionsby justin_hewlettComment: A cool concept. I like how you've avoided any nasty glare or reflection off all that chrome. There are lines, but they seem to lead the eye off the photo, I'm wondering if maybe showing more of the grill could be more effective. |
