Very interesting subject. I think in this case, the centered composition does not seem to be strongly stimulating. I'm also thinking for the subject, maybe a bit more subdued lighting could make for a stronger presentation? , more fitting? Also, the image seems to be on the verge of being oversharpened, but maybe that's just a matter of taste.

Great photo! wonderful lighting and detail. I could get lost studying the texture here. I think the left hand salute adds a lot of interest factor to the shot. What I find most captivating about this shot though is the eyes. They are just 'right there' staring you down. I think the hand also plays in here, forming a leading line, helping to really draw attention to those eyes, as well as the catchlights there. Once there, they just grab and hold your attention strongly. I find myself locked in and then wanting to turn away, as though those eyes could see into the secrets that hide within my soul. Very strong, compelling image IMO. Very well done indeed!

Very cool concept. I like that. It seems like your white balance is kind of off though. The whites look very yellow to me. Maybe some levels or color adj. could help?
