Wonderfully beautiful shot, Lynne, I don't know what to say. It was one of my favourites (if not my favourite) in the challenge. I was so surprised it didn't ribbon. Love your pictures. Keep up the good work!

An image with sweeping movement and wonderful dynamic posture. The mane flips up and the viewer senses the action. Even finishing 24 is quite a feat in the free studies. Very good work!

Lynnesite, is this you? You can just feel the power in that horse. I hope you have a long lens and weren't standing in his path! Great how you got the eyes, and even a catchlight in one. 'm not really a fan of the lighter background - it looks like maybe it was processed to have a dreamy effect but I think I'd rather it have more contrast.

Gotta be Lynne. Nobody else captures horses quite like this. Love the flowing mane, but I prefer a less centered crop for action shots. 8

I think you just win the sub-competition of horse portraits - there's a sense of blatant processing that is rather a turn-off here, although the definition of the animal just about lets you get away with it. There's a good sense of motion, and of grance and strength, which is well, and usefully, caught, but that lightned background and a feeling of sentimentality doesn't hang well for me with the idea of horse.

What a magnificent animal! Pity you didnĀ“t get all of it into the frame, powerful as is though!

I get a wonderful sense of power from this. The background is a little disturbing, I dont know if you were going for an earthreally appearance but I still had to give it a 10

Amazing capture! No real criticisms - I think a border around the picture would have framed it nicely and presented this amazing image a little better. Great job, I really like this one - can't wait to see the focal length of the lens you used - hopefully it wasn't 50mm. :-) <7>

7 - Very nice capture. Criticism; difficult, assuming you went for this 'soft look', which works, but still if there was a little more emphasis in certain dark areas (adv.editing maybe 'burn here there'/sharpening who knows) would make this 'pop' in certain places and make it an even better shot in my opinion. The cropping of the legs is minor, and if you had one 'full length' be 'another' good shot, but different to this (obviously). The background is nice and complements this, but perhaps the lighter areas at the bottom do not help 'accentuate' the horse and the movement/'feel' - but I imagine the contrast control issues would be difficult so who knows what could be done there, aside again, from selective 'adjustments'. Also (again depending what you had to work with), the mane on the left not cropped, but this is an 'opportune' shot so you've likely done all you could with what you had. Good overall 'feel' and good catch/capture. edit:typo

Wow, beautiful capture of a lovely fluid motion! Would have rated higher if it didn't look just a tiny bit too soft and if the colour was slightly more vibrant.

Great capture! The power and grace of this horse is well presented as it appears to run towards us at full gallop. Love the soft focus on the image it brings a delicate touch to offset the power of the action of the horse galloping at full speed. It also brings a dreamy surreal look to the image such that we get the sensation that we are observing the scene in a slow motion dream. My only critique is that I would have liked to have seen all of the legs for it would have strengthened the image in the sense it would heighten the viewer awareness of the grace and power in these beautiful creature.
