Nice capture, good accentuation of the curviness of her form. Want just a little more photo to the right of the elbow. I think this shot could benefit from some additional saturation. The colored scarf around her waist would greatly benefit.

Yeah...even if the cops came it'd be likely you'd be asked to go and nothing more. And they'd likely look down at the security guy with an attitude of "You bothered us about this? These guys are shooting a artistic tribute photo to our soldiers!"

Cops tend to be very supportive of such things, perhaps because in their own way, the good cops tend to be a bit of local soldier. And also because so many cops tend to be Veterans who made it back with their bodies and minds somewhat intact. And many have friends lying beneath such crosses and many more have friends who's minds did not come back so intact.

You should make a print of this...

Congrats on the blue...

So I guess I should see "Saw" then? If it's got some moral and mental aspects. I don't find pure "horror/gore" to be that interesting. Much prefer the mental thrillers (I tend to enjoy Night M. Shaylaman's films).

First Impressions: Johnny Cash....

In truth, when i first saw this shot it quite touched me. It may have been more profound as I had just watched the video of Johnny Cash's "Hurt" for the first time in detail. And was very moved.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Composition: I actually really liked the composition on this. I know several people commented regarding the board/bench. But I felt how it hid and partially revealed created a nice effect. I felt the placement of subject and the position of the hand were excellent.

Subject: What can I say, you did a decent job of conveying another man. I felt the subject was quite good and the expression of the subject and the very open eyes as beneficial, especially as it added depth to the photo.

That said, I felt the subject's tenure to the challenge topic was weak. And the reference to a forum thread somewhat iffy. (Albeit, perhaps a good witness but not sure if appropriate and sometimes even a good witness in an inappropriate setting can cause offense when there should be none.)

Technical (Colour, focus, and light): This is where I thik the shot begins to falter. The color is okay a bit drab. And the face perhaps a bit too reddened. I felt the lighting was adequate and supported the shot. The contrast on the hat was lacking though.

The big hit is the focus. Why aren't those eyes sharper? or that finger...I want to see the details of the wrinkly skin. It looks like the focus is more strongly on the board than the subject.

Creativity: I did feel the shot shot a good amount of creativity and fun.

-------------------------------------------------------------

To improve?: Get that focus sharper. Might also suggest some adjustments of color saturation. I don't think your intent was to win the challenge, otherwise I'd say you'd benefit in the future from a stronger kinship between entry and challenge.

Summary: An very thoughtful shot perhaps not quite entered where it could play out best. Perhaps too much potential site politics may have hurt the score.

I did in fact vote on this entry and gave it a 5. It had more potential but lost about a point for focus and a point for weak challenge association. So this shot if polished I think could merit a 7.

First Impressions: Cute...funny....but something is definitely fishy about this photo...

-------------------------------------------------------------

Composition: The composition is good. I like the dimensionality it delivers. I do feel you needed just bit more on the bottom. The female model's outfit has a knot tied to her top that get's cut-off and kinda distracts. But other than that, good comp.

Subject: Fun subjects. Cute sexy female. Very expressive male. And well...a fish. There is a button that the male model is wearing that greatly distracts IMHO. But that's about it.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light): Okay, this is where I've got to knock the photo a bit. The colors are bright the blue works nicely, but the faces and skin tones come across far to red. Perhaps some selective de-saturation of the reds.

The lighting fades nicely. And does well with the shadows. However, there is a lot of noise and I feel the image could be sharper.

Creativity: Definitely points on this one for creativity and humor.

-------------------------------------------------------------

To improve?: Focus and color processing.

Summary: Fun shot, I scored this a 6.
