The building itself was, and still is, the Clermont County water tower. The county was in need of a new fire station. It was significantly cheaper to build the station within the un-used hollow space within the water tower. My brother was the project manager for the Architectural firm for this project, that's how I found out about it. The tank holds 2 million gallons of water, which weighs 16.6 million pounds. And under all that water are 3 floors with 15,000 square feet of finished space for the fire fighters.

I took this photo during their opening day when I took a tour though the building. It’s quite amazing.

Editing was pretty minimal. Mostly, I played with the perspective a little, along with the contrast and colors, and sharpened. Nothing major.

Hope you like.

architecturally i find this interesting for it's certainly a bonkers building. i do like how the light is reflecting against the structure, showing it's ribbed nature of the cladding. i also like how the fire engines are parked / coming out; it's demonstrating the building working doing its thing and adds character. in terms of composition it's not really stirring, the tree is obviously encroaching, the parked cars just making it messy. ironically, if you included more of the environment in within the frame, getting the building in its surroundings, the tree and cars might be less of an issue. i'd love to see an aerial shot of this building too... anyway, it is an attention grabber, and i like it - 7.

Kind of a plain shot. Maybe a bit more dramatic sky (if you get one) or a closer approach looking up the tower to get the lines of the sides?

hmm what an intersting building. but i am puzzled at the idea of why you decided to submit this.... being that it is a free study challenge, the opportunities are endless... why a water tower?? 4
