Good technicals (exposure, composition, focus.) The red works very well with the brick and the black background. I think a little later lighting may have given some better shadows. The thin line on the left edge is somewhat annoying but could easliy be cropped out.

Overall - I'd say in the top 20. Good job.

It's definitaley a common everyday choice - but I can't seem to get into the photographic aspects of this image.

Pasta: which ones?

This is one one my highest scores - but I'm having difficulty justifying it. I like it a lot, but just can't quite put my finger on why.

1) Graphically it's very strong - but I don't like the horizonatl pasta at the top.

2) The colors are great - but don't seem "photographically real.

3) Evidence of lighting is non-existant - no shadows anywhere.

But as I said - it's in my top ten - and that's what's important if you are looking for scores!
