I feel this is an example of trying to shoehorn an image into a challenge. Without the title, this would not work at all. Sorry, it just doesn't meet the challenge to me without a handler in the image.

I think a portrait orientation that showed that players body jumping for the ball would have added a more dynamic slant to the image. I think the border overpowers the image.

Good catch. My only suggestion would be that a shallower DOF would have helped separate the subject from the background and make it "pop"
