Homeworkby gysComment: This does look great in b/w and the shallow DOF looks good here since you clearly wanted the main focus to be on the boys face and not the pencil. Great job! I gave it a 6 in the initial pass but upgraded it to a 7 after studying it closer. |

Best Friendby dougi555Comment: Quite different from the other images in the challenge and it works well. Lighting is not too harsh although it must have been sunny. Good job in bringing out the detail in the wood grain. The deep DOF was a smart choice. |

-o-cby timfythetooComment: Great shot and a very nice composition. They eyes show evidence of an umbrella but give them an interesting sparkle. Smart choice of b/w. I marked this as a 6 in my initial pass but changing it to a 7 now after spending more time viewing it. |

Brokenby lmoroComment: One of my favorites in this challenge. I have no idea what happened for the subject to end up with broken glasses and random dirt but it makes the viewer think - which is obviously a good thing.
Colors are nice. It does not look too overdone and composition is clearly excellent! I marked it as a 6 in my first pass but marking it up to an 8 after spending more time viewing it. I hope you'll get a ribbon for it! |

The Lookby Patrick_RComment: One of my top 5 in this challenge. Excellent idea. A little soft but it works well for the setting. |

BooYakasha! by MotekComment: One of my top 6 images. I'm not too crazy about the signs of editing in terms of halo on the left and a darker area on the right side of the dog.
But the angle you took it and the focal length you used sparks life to the picture making it fun. The green 'leggings' and added colors around his neck makes it even better. 7 from me. |
