Believe me when I say this, as I have the UTMOST respect for kiwiness and his photography, but I am really shocked this did not get the blue instead... the shape, form, and depth of this one is just astounding. What a crime that you didn't get your 2nd ribbon... but that's just me bellyaching about it. It's a beautiful image! :o)

I scored this shot a 5 during the challenge... it's not bad, but there's not much in the way of "wow factor" IMHO... like Brittanica said, the fire appears to be the subject rather than the smoke. I didn't get around to commenting on many shots, but it does surprise me you got none during voting. I'm sure it was an awesome sight in person. :o)

This is by far the most beautiful and provocative entry in the challenge, IMHO. The lighting is superb, the composition is appealing, the exposure is perfect... all I can say is that this shot ROCKS!!!!
