staplesby ralphComment: Fantastic photo. Love the DOF and the lighting. Composition is super. Powerful contrast. Unfortunately DNMC. |

What did I do wrong?by sarsonukComment: The lighting is flat and sepia toned. Was this a conscious choice? Greater contrast and multiple light sources would address the flat light. I am in awe of the models' ability to hold perfectly still for 30 seconds or more. But in the end I'm not resonating with the photo. Guess you didn't get lucky w/ me, either. |

On the Canby danthesquidkidComment: I gave this a low score because you captured 3 of my photographic pet peeves in one photo: tilted towel bar; poor focus, and a toilet. It does show a sense of humor ... best we not take ourselves too seriously. |

The Pause That Refreshesby anaheimca89Comment: I am prepared to believe this was a 30 second exposure. It is technically well done and the degree of difficulty is fairly high. But in the words of Pinky and the Brain ...
Brain, "Pinky, are your pondering what I'm pondering?"
Pinky, "Well I thinks so Brain, but a Coke bottle for a subject? What would Mr. Adams think?" |

Psychogenic Incorporealityby blackenedwhiteComment: You succeeded in creating an emotional response in me. I don't want to be here, that's for sure. You hint at a story (which I like). Why is this person here? For how long? Why is he (she?) wearing a wedding ring? I can see this in Newsweek or Time, or some such. I think the title diminishes the photo. You could have used the title to continue to tell the story. |

The Soul of a Warriorby posthumousComment: A great photo occurs when a great subject combines with great execution. In this case the execution is fine, but the subject does nothing for me. It's not that it's a bad photo, but rather a photo of a subject I don't want to look at. I am sure this sounds negative. Sorry. |
