what goes upby holdingtimeComment: I'm sure you have received comments about this --- but I would have cropped to a panoramic aspect ratio to get red of the tree in the top left. Would have made for a top notch shot. |

Hand Stand Manby SalarComment: Great sense of scale. My only criticism is that the horizon seems slightly tilted to the right. Awesome shot that is just an amazing location! |

Flightby myceliumComment: Beautiful light and wonderful landscape. Would love to know where this is. Great use of mist compressoin to show depth and distance as well. I think that there could have been a stronger focal point in the foreground --- in comparison with the rest of the image, it just seems a little bland to me. Great shot either way, just some food for thought. Details rock, and colors are astounding. Top of the line work. |

Repetition with variations for small childby e301Comment: I probably would have liked this image more in all black and white. This is not because I am "against" selective desaturation, but more, that I like your black and white treatmen a lot and I think this could be improved by having the entire image undergo that treatment. This is a very good shot and very well done for the challenge. I will give it very high marks. However there does seem to be some jpeg artifacts and "jaggies" that may be due to either over-sharpening or you may have had some problems in the actual compression of the original shot. If you would like help on compression, feel free to PM me and I will be glad to help you out so that you may submit the best quality shots. Good work, keep it up! |

This Wayby SiRaComment: Wonderful tones and treatment to this image. The highlights are just held in --- this image is technically flawless. I like the new and fresh experimental type of composition, as well as a very different angle. Great way of working "outside of the box"! |

Delicate ArchThrough the Windowby PhantomEWOComment: People will give this a 3--second scan and immediately conclude "Not Minimalism". I can probably say that you have gotten many comments and have been voted down for not meeting the challenge. However, after scrutinizing this image further, one recognizes the true brilliance of the shot. The few ambiguous figures in the distance give such a sense of scale that one wonders what the meaning of minimalism is to begin with. There could be a few technical improvements of this shot; I would start by dodging and burning more as well as bumping up the contrast (maybe a try in B&W?), but these are easy alterations to do and I'd love to see what you do to this shot in the future. Beautiful work, don't let the high-speed voters of DPC let you down. Hope this 10 bumps you up further! |
