Complicatedby GeorgesBogaertComment: I like the messiness of it, a fall of confetti, which seems to represent the unresolvable confusion of the whole deal. |

Pi(e) in the Sky by MargaretNetComment: Seemingly disparate elements, but they grew on me as I kept gazing. I like the cleanliness of the overall image. The statue of pi might be excessive, but that's just subjective. The knife, as it blurs into the sky, is like a bridge to the infinite, or something. And the little pie is that tantalizing decimal point trumpeting the wild continuation. Interesting, otherworldly take on the challenge. |

Circumference by gyabanComment: Fascinating - as always! - take on mysterious pi. There's a Vitruvian Man look going, 3, echoed and extended by smaller versions of him ticking off the digits of the endless ratio. Then tumbling off into disarray. So clever, and such a fine translation of the math into human terms. The guys gliding in from the upper left introduce the notion of fertilization, sperm into egg. Don't know if it's intentional or not, but I like. Outside the box, excellently so.

circles and stuffby PennyStreetComment: The thing about pi, at least to me, is the fuzzy, indeterminate nature of the beast. And yet it's crucial in so many mathematical scenarios. This swirly, almost manic, circular plate, with its tree reflections and kind of overlaps, sums up my own sense of wonder and discontent. Served with a slice!

In equilibriumby SistoComment: Lovely image of a beautiful child playing with this apple. The apple is fraught with overtones of nefarious incitement, yet here he's having his delightful way with it. His innocence evaporates any darker implications, and now it's merely a piece of fruit, a plaything. The soft lighting and light blue background are perfect. The color follow-through of red shirt, lips and apple subtly draws the eye along, as does his gaze.

The ice sheet is melting.by skewsmeComment: Sometimes, as here, the title is everything. Maybe not this ice, but we all know, with anguish, that the earth is taking a disastrous turn. Maybe there's still time to
forestall and limit the damage, but that's a big maybe. Your stark image speaks to the sad peril. I like how the ice shimmers and kind of blows out, setting up the heavy message. |

On Edgeby LydiaComment: Clever, funny and gracefully executed. This little fellow is my new hero. |

Life on the edgeby mariucaComment: The juxtaposition of the lovely crocuses and the sudden drop-off into a gulley is startling and moving. It's tough enough for these flowers, but it sure does also resonate with us humans. Many, if not most of us, understand what it is to be in a perilous situation, as shown here. Fine image. |
