The Shortest Dayby WarbyComment: Beautifully tells a story of a wary man surviving the dark mysteries of the solstice with his Christian amulets. In his thick-walled but still chilly room, peering out the window, the old days and old ways are not forgotten. My favorite of the challenge. |

longest night yet to comeby TiberiusComment: I wonder where this is. The solstice seems to be inconsequential in these climes, or am I reading this incorrectly? In any case, a strong, clear and deep landscape taken from a terrific vantage point and nicely brought to life in black and white. |
