Appetiserby eyesunComment: High class political satire. Perfect depth of field, balanced composition. A well-put-together morsel, maybe a bit calorie rich. |

same as it ever was....by LoViComment: The heavy grain works well in this stark image. Though I haven't figured out the meaning in this picture, I'm sure it's just escaped me because the scene seems heavy with intimation. That bird pointing elsewhere to the arriving bird is a delicious capture. Very satisfying. |

Man, 'tis difficult to see past the camoflageby herfotomanComment: Succinct depiction of the predatory nature of politics behind the camouflage. Nicely caught prayer posture, further underlining the sanctimonious attitude in which some politicians cloak themselves. I also like that the mantis is kind of half lit, ready to pull back into the shadows. |

1,000 Paper Cranes for Mary Anne by LydiaComment: Congratulations on the yellow ribbon. It's a beautiful tribute to Mary Anne. I wish both she and you gentle peace and strength as you walk the paths you have found yourselves embarked upon. |

You Can't Fight City Hallby banmornComment: Exciting juxtaposition of the persistence and inertia of entrenched power, exemplified by the building on the right, and the otherwise modern world, exemplified by the jumpy patterns to the left. This is a particularly fine example of the old/new juxtaposition. The composition of the new buildings is balanced and interesting. Still, can't say I'm impressed by this version of modernity. |

Politics: the art of doing nothing until it's too late to do anything.by Bear_MusicComment: The image is charming and the title is insightful and cogent. A long look at this half-gone boat is encouraged by its foreground placement and its lighting, as if highlighted by sunlight on an overcast day. I like the way the vignette enhances this impression. As for the sad truth of the title, I can't, fortunately for all, bear to get started. |

Campaign Headquarters for New City Hall by bohemkaComment: Very nice shot of the grandiose facade of City Hall. Solid, imposing if not quite welcoming. My take on the title is "business as usual." What I also discern is that it's, in fact, just a grandiose facade. Cynically speaking, behind it all are self-serving, greedy, hypocritical, venal.... business as usual politicians/scurvy knaves. |
