Macy's Paradeby markwileyComment: A cinematic moment of suspense and mystery. There's an interesting progression from mannequin to smoker to back-turned man. The thrown shadows are also interesting. A handsome and nicely handled tableau. |

White linesby GeorgesBogaertComment: Pulling away in distance tends to deindividualize, if not dehumanize, people. Here the distance is not so far as to accomplish that, but far enough to allow a bit of abstraction. The white lines are so strong that I'm seeing the people becoming like vagrant notes on a continuous staff. And a nice little symphony it is. |

ubique in tenebras cordisby Bear_MusicComment: I wish I could offer more than a guess as to what's going on here. It looks like a folded piece of cloth that somewhat suggests the head of a crow. Maybe it serves as an inkblot that the viewer can project his/her unconscious on. |

A Sense of Directionby Yo_SpiffComment: I love walls, and these have tons of personality. They're very much here, but the spray-painted information makes me wonder if they're slated for demolition. Maybe I'd need specialized knowledge to decipher it, and so I'm already caught in uncertainty. What are those strange openings? Is the green algae or something? It's just this side of ominous, and the aforementioned uncertainty provides the energy that uplifts this image. |

mountains beyond mountainsby bohemkaComment: This bike rider in his/her environment is artfully blurred and I think enfolded in flare. The suggestion is just sufficient to carry understanding, creating an intimate entente between photographer and viewer. The title is terrific. An accomplished statement. |
