where mushrooms are madeby Ecce_SignumComment: Many people don't appreciate this kind of hyper-real type of processing, and I'm often of that cohort, but in this instance I find it to be perfection. Here's where myth and fairy tales are born, emerging from an intensity of life and vision that encourage belief in magic for those who can feel it. How happy to wander through this world.
The 8 I gave this image is obviously paltry, and sorry for a hasty decision. Still, it's my personal favorite of the challenge. Thank you. |

interdimensionsby krnodilComment: Complex and exciting, this is a fascinating assemblage of white lines and black space. Before I saw your comment I thought this was a cracked mirror or window with reflections. Thanks for explaining how you achieved this, like entering hyperdrive but without the dizziness so often present in this type of effect. I also like the sense of solidity these lines have. |

as seenby mariucaComment: Abstract art done in fabric. Very cool. Because it's photo-realistic, as abstraction it's taking a new path. About the central vertical strip that overlays it all, I can't decide, subjectively speaking, of course, whether it's bold or distracting. I think I'm behind the artistic curve on this one. The subtle variety of tones and textures is very satisfying. |

Tornado Watchingby JulietNNComment: This incredible image was my clear favorite for this challenge. I gave it a 9 -- what was I thinking, and how I regret not just making my enjoyment and admiration completely expressed with a 10. The generous foreground, transitioning across muddy water to the line of trees and mountains, and then the amazing turmoil in the sky -- all in focus and wonderfully processed to impart the beautiful, moody atmosphere. The graininess of the clouds strikes me as perfectly conveying the sense that everything is set to explode into wild weather. Terrific. Is this also Parker Lake? |

lots of themby PennyStreetComment: A nicely framed, balanced composition. I really like the granularity of the sky that blends beautifully into the stars. |

Skyby Pk395Comment: The meteors captured are nice and jaunty. Unfortunately, an over-abundance of light compromises the sweep of the sky. Cities make it tough to feature the goings-on in the heavens above, as I can sympathize with you, living in New York City. Next year, let's ask the mayor to shut them off for a night. |

Aeroplanes, alien beams and a small perseid by SistoComment: This looks like a futuristic battlefield, fending off an alien invasion alluded to in the title. The choice of featuring a wind tower perfectly suits the sci-fi vibes. Also, there's a gleeful feel to it, a joy in this visual playground. Fun image. |

Baby you are a shooting star.by tjbel05Comment: Interesting composition, the brilliant meteor flashing across the upper right corner, almost an afterthought. Of course it's not, but it feels like a reminder that yes, the world is full of wonder. The glow of the Milky Way adds a subtle diagonal to the image. The trees work well as foreground, establishing scale and perspective. |
