Wikani Skies the limitby Ecce_SignumComment: Lovely image of Skye become, sort of, eponymous. He (or she) emerges from the night sky as a cloud bank, a constellation. He's flirting with dimensions, dabbling on the periphery, held here only by his eye and nose. The square frame is handsomely filled. The tones are harmonious. A fitting, comely portrait. |

morning by TiberiusComment: Also a co-favorite of the challenge, as I run out of time to comment. Terrific. |

Under the Bridgeby MargaretNetComment: Exciting scene, sharp and dark, bleached and elliptical, open and closed. I like the toning and admire the complicated, exacting composition.
A personal co-favorite of the challenge. |

B O Oby Ja-9Comment: So surprising and fascinating, as the antlers throw the stylized shadow of a deer, perhaps the self-same deer as sported the antlers. Dizzying, and excellent. |

Eleanorby NikonJebComment: Eleanor looks like a very interesting woman, and without the bling and the blue I'd be saying the same thing. It's a wonderful pose, slightly and gently facing away. I like how the light comes from behind her head, leaving her face in soft shadow. I like how the decoration in her hair tries to be the focus of the image, but can in no way outshine her beauty. |

The Good Roomby jomariComment: I like this photo better than the second one. It's airier and deeper. I find it hard to comment on an image of a work of art, except to say that it's well-composed and I enjoy looking at it. That security camera on the ceiling sends a shiver up my spine. |

A1010296by MAKComment: There's a lot filling the frame, but all the details build outward from the central shapes of a rectangle resting atop an arch. It's a composition that may easily be overlooked, but which subtly anchors everything. It's an interesting old structure, and I like how it's embraced the modern world, including a blue-haired woman. |

checks and balancesby Ecce_SignumComment: Gritty, grainy realism. There's a hyper-reality of detail, vouched for by numbers, that's absolutely transfixing. The light and contrast are wonderful. You're asking a lot from the right 40% of the image, and you get it. |

man and bagby mariucaComment: This is really cool. There's a transition between person and cartoon going on, and it's not apparent which way it's moving. The light from the odd shaped, or inset, window is everything. The composition is deft and there's more made out of apparently simple than we can fathom. Terrific. |

Election Dayby instepsComment: I think I get the dark symbolism here, and it's powerful. The image is powerful even stripped of symbolism. The looming monolith of a building is strongly set off by the inky sky. The verticals and less prominent horizontals make a pattern of faceless bureaucracy backing the flailing flags and reflecting a harsh sun. Fine use of the square format, and fine composition. |
