This effect, in my opinion, is very successful with the man and less so with his environs. If you keep going in this direction I'm sure you'll find your stride. It's inspirational to see people stretching their vision.

Here I distinctly prefer the b & w image. The indistinctness favors the latter approach, there being greater latitude as a creative decision. The contrasts work more nicely here and the graininess of the dog plays well with the graininess of the screen, as if the image is being sent back to earth from deep space. Nice.

The color image has a freshness of a new day feel that is quite appealing, the bright grass and effulgent horizon. The dog is, as some have said, more picked out in this version. However, I like the b & w version just as much, distantly related as it superficially appears. I like that you must look deeper, for that's exactly how to spot animals in the wild. The trees are more prominent and function as witnesses, even distractions. I admire your efforts.

Palpably held there floating by the dry plant, like a dirigible tethered to its tower. I want to hold my breath at the delicacy of it. Lovely bokeh. At first glance it was a dancer taking a bow.
