Mar 03 - Leavesby hajekaComment: I like the sense of terrain here, the way the veins of the middle leaf glow and the intricate folds of the rightmost leaf. From front to back it's kind of like old age, adulthood and youth. |

two of twoby instepsComment: What a treasure trove, from the burnt orange tiles along and up the red handrails. Another interesting progression is from bright red through ruby and into ox-blood. The lines divide the scene into natural segments. Many stories have tread this path. |

one of twoby instepsComment: Graphically striking, red and black outline and criss-cross legs and white lines. The gray and white of the crosswalk also set the woman off well. Then there's the nice touch of her lifted rear shoe and the shadow cast by the heel. Sweet capture. |

Nojoqui Fallsby wbanningComment: Terrific image, my favorite of the three. You really feel the power in the extended drop of this falls. (grammar?) The opening above is modestly restrained. The tones, in shadow and soft light, are extraordinary. Since my screen doesn't hold the entire picture at once, I have to travel from top to bottom with the water. A tour de force. |

Fabric by GinaRothfelsComment: Enjoyable assemblage of textures and patterns. The fabric is settled and grounded, which I find comforting. The pied, muted background is pleasing, as are the leaves strewn on the trunk and earth. |

as sun setsby mariucaComment: Very nice, with so many juicy details. I prefer this version to the other, landscape orientation. In that other version I felt the left third added little of interest and, however quirky, didn't go for the car floating over the table. This version gives greater emphasis to the man and I prefer the more muted lighting on his head. So I like this very much. It's both intimate and expansive. My favorite detail is the shadow of the window lettering thrown casually across and over his shoulder. From it you can understand where the sun is, and I love making inferences of what's outside the frame. |

Tribute to Charlieby MargaretNetComment: It's neat how you've made a commemoration of a commemoration. Your disposition of darks and lights is nicely balanced, enhanced by your choice of b & w. I also like the playing off of circles and rectilinear buildings. |

she smilesby rozComment: I like where you're going. This experiment in coloration can lead to charming results. And the vivacity of the dog, surprisingly, leads me to pay less attention than usual to unpromising surroundings. That pink tongue is great, so friendly and chic. |

Camera Hogby wbanningComment: Fine, utterly straightforward image of conditions and animals from which people often shy away. As an aside, please let's remember that they're more intelligent than dogs and, given their druthers and the opportunity, rather fastidious. Not to knock slow and sloppy, which also has its charms. There's a subtle, sinuous line in this advance of the pigs, which bestows an undercurrent of rhythm amidst the gloop. There's a nice visual grainy contrast to the overall expanse. Your settings are smartly chosen. The white structure in the far background is distracting, but it kind of looks like a snout, which is apropos, in a Moby Dick way. |

from the hipby instepsComment: What I like here is the vibrant chord of color. Along with red is orange and yellow, and the wine dark red of the coat as a bass note. The shadows of the people and the light post with its signs are strong, the background chorus in counterpoint. |
