Balanceby GinaRothfelsComment: Lovely black and white. Nice how the zig-zagging lines on the ground complement the pattern of the bird's plumage. Also like the grain. |

Trying to balance by NeatComment: One of my favorites. Not only are the children balancing themselves, the people overall are nicely positioned. As are sky, water and land. And it's interesting how strong silhouettes can also feel ethereal. Most framing doesn't appeal to me, but this one works, a postcard capturing the moment and sent off to a friend. |

The Weight of Waterby wbanningComment: A wonderful title, as this is, rounds out the image, brings out the mood and elicits a thoughtful meditation on just what is going on here. I feel it but can't quite put my finger on it. And blue's magic is in full blossom. I'd like to wallpaper a room with this. The duck in the lower right corner is a charming grace note.
Personal favorite of the challenge. |

5pmby GeorgesBogaertComment: The mood engendered by the play of light, contrasts and fine detail captures how I feel when I see some of my favorite MB-W photos. I'm so taken by the magic that I'm almost unaware of the scene.
Personal favorite of the challenge. That 9. |

The New Europe / A Worthy Lifeby MonaComment: Fine portrait, capturing her pensiveness, and set before a lovely array of quadrilaterals. Despite the black and white, the tones and textures feel like color. |

Rhyoliteby Yo_SpiffComment: What Robert said. A beautiful image, peaceful and quirky. Wasn't clear that it spoke Margaret Bourke-White to me, but maybe my own glance at her oeuvre was insufficient, so I only gave this a 7. |
