Lost Highwayby orussellComment: Nicely done, but a bit too centered for my liking. I have a feeling of wanting to see more character & detail leading to the window...perhaps from a bit off to one side. The bright spot in the sky to the right is a little distracting. |

Evening View from Kitchenby scottwilsonComment: Lovely view. I'd probably like this image a bit better with less of the inside features & more emphasis on the view. Even just taking some of the plain top area away pulls my eyes more into the window. Considering the difference in lighting between inside & out...nice job of exposinig both well. Also, I would have rotated this ever so slightly to the left to level out the water line.

Golden Tranquilityby LtHousLadyComment: Ccraft, Thank you kindly :) The competition was fierce in this one & I was very happy with how it did. Of course a ribbon would ave been nice too....lol
Your previous comment about a book may not be too far off base :o) It's actually something I have in the works...A coffee table photo book to be a natural companion to a new book coming out in May that I have several pics in "Long Island Lighthouses: Past & Present" |

Golden Tranquilityby LtHousLadyComment: Thank you all for the comments. As you can see, I stink at all other photography cept LIGHTHOUSES! lol Well, maybe not all, but I definitely do better with something I'm passionate about.
Might have pulled a slightly higher ranking if I had used THIS CROP but I couldn't stand to let the great texture of the rocks & sand be left out.
Yes, I did use a polorized lense. I almost always do for the lighthouses. Even with using it, the originals are still lacking in color... ORIGINAL
I always up the saturation in the camera software before bringing it into Photoshop to fine tune.
On a happy news note, I just found out that the alternate cropping version is going to be in a local magazine, Long Island Parenting News Needless to say, I'm VERY happy :o) |

gotta eat greensby chalconeComment: Looks VERY appetizing! Nice job with perspective & DOF. The slight bright spots on the left are a bit distracting. |

Flathead River At Dawnby jodiecostonComment: Nice coloring & reflections. Great use of the deeper DOF.I may have taken the photo from a lower point to improve the perspective over the rocks. |

A Nickels Dreamby instepsComment: This is very cool, but seems a bit dark. For me, more contrast would enhance the excellent effect. |
