Trying out the new wide-angle lens I got for my new camera. :) I waded out into the frozen river at dawn for this shot, set the auto camera esposure to -1 1/3 stops so as to not blow out the sky. Boosted saturation and played with levels a bit to bring out the foreground detail.

I only wish I could post the 8 megapixel full-sized image - the detail in those stones on the ground is absolutely incredible. I hope some of the beauty of this morning transfers over to the viewer in this smaller image.

Nice coloring & reflections. Great use of the deeper DOF.I may have taken the photo from a lower point to improve the perspective over the rocks.

IMO - I would have removed the bottom half of this. Its too dark to make anything out. I love the colors of the sky and the reflection of those colors in the water. Beautiful! 8

the colors might be a bit off for the time of day... is this shot with Auto white balance? Try CLOUDY balance next time on sunrise/sunsets, you'll find it to be a better and warmer results.

A beautiful scene. I think I would like to see alternate cropping; maybe less foreground, more sky? I love the cloud reflections.

likes - placement and color of horizon, dof
dislikes - I find the sky more interesting then the lake stones.

Every once in a while, you see a photograph that takes your breath away. This is one of those photographs. Colors, composition, technicals, and for goodness sake, the material you had to work with were all used beautifully. I love it when this happens. Thanks. 10
