Wow, this shot makes quite an impression after 200 staged shots. I think you could have cropped down and right to increase the impact of your central elements, after all this is about power not clouds, but that is nit picking, this one is in ribbon territory.

I wish you had left a tiny bit of space around the top and bottom of the glass in the foreground. Given the area left and right the bottom and top feel squeezed. Very tough subject matter well shot.

A bit back focused, too bad because this colors are strong, but the fore ground and main focal point is out of focus.

Opposite Worlds

two things that would have made this a stronger shot. If the white guy was walking in the other direction, it would have compleated the opposition. If the downtown sign was more firmly in the frame it would have given it more power to balance out the softness of focus, as it is it has less impact than the uptown sign, where as the two figures balance very nicely because of their solid placment in the frame. Nice to see a non studio/ posed shot here.

I think the cropping is powerfull and the B&W reduction silky and strong, on the whole a good graphic image. My only beef is that I think of salt and pepper as two things that go together, with more similarties than differences. Same can be said of the subjects in about one third of the entries, but this is such a good shot it is my only criticism.

Great shot, just amazing well balanced colors, fabulous forms, a bit soft on the focus on the trailing bird, but dispite the title, these birds speak more of harmony than opposition. If you don't end up between a 7 or 8 it will only be because this can't be shohorned into the challenge, at least not up where it would otherwise belong near the ribbons.

I wish you could have gotten a bit more light on the black handle or lightened the backround behind it to make it show a bit better, but this is one of my favorites of the challenge. good on topic idea well executed.
