this shot has a lot going on texturally-trees,grass,stones. I think this shot could be improved by getting closer to your main subject and revealing the wonderful details of the stone and the statue buddah.

i like this idea-you have some halo blur around some of your chess pieces-maybe lighting was insufficient? Your shot has a gray overlay on it-this can be eliminated by raising contrast levels in a photo editing program.

this is a nice idea-would you reconsider shooting this same shot but on a white background and getting close to the subjects -easy way to do this would be to tape some white butcher's paper OR white non-wrinkled bed sheet to wall and set up 3 lamps w/o thier shades for lighting-try it in black & white mode( & no flash) or have subjects wearing all white. I would love to see the reshoot if you do it!

I think you interpreted prportion pretty well here-it is hard to tell how big or how small these really are -good job. I would've liked to see more contrast and the shiny details of the metal
