Whilst I don't feel that the image has necessarily much to do with the book, I really like it! The dirty hand, the nails, the grapes and the lighting are great. Best of all for me are the grape juice droplets which could be interpreted as blood, pain etc. It tells a story of its own. A 7 from me.

Good take on the challenge. The contrast works well and I especially like the crinkled, burnt paper/ashes, the glow and the textures. A 7 from me

A literal depiction of a classic tale. For me it would have been more poignant if the leaf was still on the tree, the only one left. The yellow works well on the blue/grey background but perhaps the leaf could have been a tad sharper. A 5 from me.

A literal take on the book. I like it - perhaps the clock face could have been a tad brighter. From me a 6

I like the mood of it, but somehow the setting lacks something, perhaps the great openness which should be around the house to give it a more apt Yorkshire moore setting. A 5 from me.

Similar image to one of the book covers. It meets the challenge well. I would have liked sharper focus on the beak and eye and perhaps sharper contrast in color, but I do like it. A 6 from me.

I really like the shot, but I don't get any sense of what seems to be important threads in the book: religion, race, family relationships. However, I can see that there may be a spiritual feel to this, helped by the colors. Therefore, a 6 from me.

Captures the essence of the book well and the reality aspect of the fire draws one in. I like it and it gets a 7 from me.

The floating mask works well and helps to meet the challenge. But there's something missing - I can't put my finger on it. I guess it's missing excitement? A 6 from me

Whilst i haven't read the book, it seems to me that it is about moral education. I can see the connection to fish and like the flow in the image. I find the colors and blending of colors works well to portray this fable and I see it as a modern representation of an old piece of writing. A 6 from me
