Swallowtail - a bit tattered but still beautifulby digifotojoComment: I know that you don't want to lose detail in the blacks on the butterfly, but I really think that bringing down the midtones/shadows would make this image pop more. A simple curves adjustment would do wonders for it. I like your sharpness and your composition. The background bokeh is very nice. 6 from me. |

darkmum.jpgby MAKComment: I really like this. On my monitor, you kept detail in the shadows perfectly, including the slightly obscured eye which is awesome (including the catchlight). I think your lighting is wonderful here. If it were me, I would bring up the contrast a little with a subtle curves adjustment. Just to let the highlights shine a little bit more, but without losing your low-key treatment. That is a matter of personal taste, though. I would also burn down the brighter side of the backdrop to have more of a vignette and hold the eye in the frame. Those are minor things. This is truly a beautiful portrait. Nicely done. |

"Hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky."by sibelingComment: Beautiful detail and color on the dragonfly. I like the bokeh in the background very much. Don't hate me for saying I wish the composition was more interesting. Maybe putting the dragonfly more in the corner and making use of the interesting diagonal lines (stick, wing, tail) to define the space and lead the eye better. 7 from me. |

Lonely Voiceby levyj413Comment: I like the wide angle perspective here, making the guy with the sign tower above the background people and buildings. You dealt well with the lighting and it helps to see some detail in the clouds in the sky. 7 from me. |

Dive into the deep seaby onarComment: I don't know if it was possible, but it would have been very cool to get the camera a little lower so that the horizon was below the diver. I do really like the negative space here. I love the smallness of teh person against the ocean and the sky. 7 from me. |

Reluctantly crouched at the starting lineby LuDeLushComment: I think the puddle unfortunately throws the effect off a little here. Without the 'double take' and mini car in there, the puddle works well. Here it kind of separated the two cars and the extra set of wheels is distracting. 6 from me. |

Dyslexic Love Bugsby NatashaComment: Cute. I love the harsh lighting and sharp shadows here. It goes well with the great color that you captured. 7 from me. |

Glowingby LeeDComment: This is beautiful. Your lighting is wonderful. I love all the negative space that you left surrounding her, too. |
