Silent Protest, Trafalgar Squareby kate_rioComment: Well, I don't look at this photo and think "silence", although from the title I can understand your reason. I think the photo itself would be better if that pole was straigtened vertically with the edge of the photo. |

Silence for Dummiesby jonpinkComment: Great, clear shot. Any parent will know how this conveys silence. I like the lighting, the focus is right on, and I even think the border is a good choice. |

Silence is Goldenby MarjoComment: Lovely scenic view and it does look like a nice, quiet spot. The reflections are great. |

Sweet Dreamsby jodiecostonComment: I like this alot. The effect really says silence to me. The one thing I would change would be to change the angle a bit so you're not looking up the nose quite as much. I like the faded, white-out look a lot for this shot. |

... and all is quietby giseleComment: I'm not sure if there's something in the background I'm not seeing which would tie this in more with silence. It's hard to tell what's back there. The main subject (the lamp), just doesn't convey "silence" to me. |

Must Be A Good Book!by LindaEComment: Makes me sleepy just looking at him. I think this is a nicely exposed, clear shot that fits the challenge. |

Paper Airplane: A silent flight.by jealbornComment: It does fit the challenge, but not strongly I think. I wouldn't look at this photo and think "silence". I like the shot itself, although grainy (maybe intended that way?) The composition and the motion blur are very nice. |

Air Guitarby AlbertmdhComment: Gets the silence across! The photo itself needs some technical help. The flash glare on the guitar is distracting. The back line of the table or whatever the guitar is on is obviously slanted. The placement of the guitar and the amount of white space makes the photo lack interest. Standing the guitar up some, or using some other color in the photo might help. |

Calmnessby smr78Comment: Good idea for the silence challenge. I like having the empty benches all lined up, but the tree kind of takes over. I think this would be better with more emphasis on the benches - less tree and cropping out the light pole and trash can or whatever that is next to it. |

Missing MVPby nsvillegasComment: It's a little hard to make out what that is on the pole, but it looks like a basketball hoop. I think it's a good idea, but the photo itself seems a little dark and you have to work to really make out what it is in the foreground. I like the mist. |
