IMG_1535.jpgby tsheetsComment: I have yet to get a shot of these interesting creatures. One of the few insects that I like photographs of. It looks like this had to be taken rather quickly, and for that I think you did a great job. The dragonfly seems very clear. I might darken the background, especially around the edges, a little more. |

Red Headed Woodpecker - Frontby tsheetsComment: These are so hard to get! I got really lucky with one (Actually, I think mine is a red breasted woodpecker) outside past my patio and almost didn't take it because of the distance. My 717 has an okay zoom, but not great. After I cropped it heavily it really wasn't too bad and I was so glad I had taken it! Glad you caught the great colors in this guy. Good job! |

The Waitby DamianComment: Aptly named piece. Good catch of the expression. I think your post processing in your people shots here have a sort of gritty feel to them that is purposeful and works well with your subjects. |

In The Shadowsby DamianComment: This is nice, but the more I look at it actually the less I like it. The gray area right near the middle is distracting. I like the softness of it, but the face appears out of focus...I think there's a subtle difference. Also, I would crop just a bit more off the left. All that being said...it's better than anything I could do probably! I especially like the lighting. |

Happiness is a Home Run!by L1Comment: What a wonderful capture of expressions! I like the faded border, but would have done without the red line border. The photo itself I hope is framed and available for that young man (your son?) Wonderful moment and you've caught it so well. |

IMG_0834jp-sm.jpgby L1Comment: This is nicely done, but there's something about that sweatshirt that detracts from his face. Maybe it's the lightness of it, maybe that it takes up a large portion of the frame...I'm not sure. Do they know what you look like without the camera in front of you? lol! Wonderful photos of all these boys. |

Smileby L1Comment: Another great natural shot. In this one, the face looks clearer. Wonderful in b/w. Nice smile! :) |

Dirtby L1Comment: This is awesome. The face seems just the tiniest bit soft to me, but the tones and expression here are great. Really looks a typical boy! Those cleaned-up "smile for the camera" studio shots have their place, but this is the kind of kid portrait I like best! Well done. |

They're Hereby L1Comment: This is kinda cool. It does remind me of my entry in the darkness challenge, but I'm currently being slammed for it! I think the distortion here is what makes it so interesting. It's always fun to try something different. |

Jazzby L1Comment: This is wonderful. Great composition, excellent lighting. I don't know if you used a glow effect or if this just naturally has that feel to it, but it really warms up the shot and adds a lot to it. I can sure see this one as a print. |
