UNTITLEDby Allen1634Comment: Feeling overdone on the waterdrops lately, but this is a fresh take on it.
I like that you're reflecting the cards in back through the drop, but even in the reflection it's OoF.
6/10 for the shot - would've got a 9 if the drops were in full focus |

Motörheadby giantmikeComment: I'd say "Lemmy would be proud", but I can't since i don't know him or if he would indeed be proud.
I hope you'll settle for "I'm proud to see a Motorhead reference and a consolation 6". :)
I would've given higher if the DoF wasn't as shallow - maybe bump up your focal length a stop or two to keep a little bit more of the guitar head in focus. |

desperate times, desperate measuresby klkitchensComment: As others have said, the electric blue background is pretty harsh, but i found that it did cause the bank to really stand out as the focal point here.
A slight blur in the hammer could add a greater sense of urgency to this and take the eyes from watching something hanging over him to being scared of the oncoming blunt object trying to destroy him.
The only other thing i'd say is that the lighting seems to be a bit too intense as there's glaring reflections on the bank - a more muted light source to provide even light would've helped with that. (i've been getting a lot of light criticism on my own photos, it seems to be truly one of the hardest parts to master). |

Loma schoolby chazoeComment: I think that while the overgrowth in front of the school can add to it's age and state of disrepair, it doesn't mean it makes it an overly grungy feeling shot. The lighting seems to bee too bright (check the roof), even in the false tones to convey a sense of a dark/brooding/grimy place.
I think if you had shot this with a longer exposure closer to dusk it would've felt creepier.
1/100 speed means you had a good amount of ambient light here to get this shot from this distance, that is evident in the roof and windows. |
